A few important notes:
PADDLE CANADA CERTIFICATION - If you would like to obtain Paddle Canada Basic Sea Kayak certification please register for the clinics that are starred (and labelled on the registration form as required - 4 clinics in total) and you MUST have a proper sea kayak (sealed bulkhead, decklines and bow and stern toggles) and equipment: tow rope, bailer/pump, skirt, paddle, PDF.
OFF-SITE CLINIC AND GUIDED PADDLES - If you choose the off-site clinic and/or guided paddles you are responsible for getting you and your boat to the off-site location and you MUST have a proper sea kayak (sealed bulkhead, static decklines, and cockpits fitted with a spray). For the off-site guided paddle to Lockeport and Mcnutt's Island you will be leaving by 9am and must register for that option (you do not have time for the other paddle to the farmers market or yoga on land or being prepared clinic). Location may change depending on weather and waves at the discretion of the guide/instructor.
BEGINNER: A beginner kayaker is someone very new to paddling. They have not taken any formal paddle instruction and have possibly only paddled with friends and have attended some organized paddles. They do not know how to or are not comfortable with wet exits and rescues.
INTERMEDIATE: An intermediate kayaker is a person who has taken formal paddle instruction. They have paddled numerous times and they have tried to progress with the techniques taught during formal training. They are knowledgeable and comfortable with performing wet exits and assisted and self rescues
